Many of us lead busy lives with little space to breathe, think, and make choices with clarity. We hold ourselves to unsustainable standards in our careers, relationships and as individuals. We may run from day to day with an anxious stream of thoughts, or float numbly with disconnection and over-scheduling as a way to avoid pain. Sometimes our expectations, goals and circumstances come at the expense of clarity and fulfillment.

I work with individuals & couples to reconnect while understanding how the past impacts present living. We collaborate to build a foundation of skills that promote healing as individuals and within relationships. My approach is grounded in human capacity for growth using a humanistic and strength based approach. I incorporate these modalities for processing trauma, anxiety, depression, and performance blocks. Therapy should be a collaborative process that provides a safe space to rediscover your strengths, while understanding and creating meaning from experiences, relationships and culture. Integrating our past and present empowers us to become creators of our lives rather than observers. Let’s work together to discover your path towards healing with sustainable growth and inner happiness.

David’s focus areas

  • Grief | People think of grief only when they lose someone they love but grief is present in so many other places in our lives. Any type of loss can cause a period of grief including chronic medical diagnosis, ending a relationship, loss of support system, loss of an ability to do something you love, kids starting school, loss of a pet and the list goes on. If we don't identify that we are experiencing grief we wont allow ourselves to effectively process these changes in our lives.

  • Relationship Diversity & Relational Conflict | Sex, relationships, and self-expression are on a spectrum. Dynamics vary greatly from person to person and relationship. I am confident in working with all orientations of relationships (ie., polyamory, ethical non-monogamy) by creating a safe space to discuss your mental, emotional, and physical needs. Additionally, I excel with high conflict relationships whether that be within the relationship directly, presenting within the scope parenting challenges, or confronting behaviors that has stalled progress in the relationship.

  • LGBQTIA | As a Queer male I have the experiences of growing up in a household that wouldn't allow me to present my true self to the world until later in life. I am trans and gender non conforming affirming with the belief that striving for continued understanding of the LGBQTIA communities lived experiences allows me the opportunity grow with each client. Within our own community we deal with all the ism's and it’s time we come together and support each other.

David’s ideal client

My ideal client is one who will be honest with me even if they think I may not like what they have to say. They will push back when they have questions so we can work together and make progress with each session.
